Council of Governors seeking new members

Date Published: 11/06/2010

YMCA Perth is embarking on a recruitment drive to strengthen its governance structure and is seeking nominations for its Council of Governing Members.

The organisation is keen to hear from people who had the appropriate skills and passion for the YMCA’s mission.

“This opportunity will give a number of individuals the opportunity to contribute to the WA community in an extremely meaningful way.”

YMCA Perth welcome applications from influential members of the community with experience in areas including business, fundraising and philanthropy, marketing, finance and Indigenous issues.

Successful applicants would initially form part of the Council of Governing Members. Council members support the YMCA Perth through their role as ambassadors for the organisation and through drawing on their experience and knowledge to support the Board and professional staff.

Council of Governing Members are not Board members, although the Council is a pool from which Board members are drawn. The 15 new positions are unpaid and successful applicants would be required to attend between three or four meetings a year.

Interested applicants should contact Naomi Edwards for an application form, on (08) 9473 8400 or by email to naomi.edwards@ymca.org.au. A covering letter and current resume is also a requirement of the application.

Applications close on Wednesday 30 June 2010.
