Thanks to the support of the Department of Sport and Recreation, YMCA HQ is hosting seventeen Streetwise skateboarding clinics in 2010 across the State. The aim of this program is to increase participation rates in the sport of Skateboarding and provide opportunities for existing skaters to improve their skills.
The Streetwise Skateboarding clinics are run by accredited coaches and are tailored for a variety of skill levels. The YMCA HQ (Leederville) Streetwise clinic is scheduled for Saturday 26th of June.
Thanks to YMCA HQ and the Department of Sport & Recreation it is FREE to register for the two hour coaching workshops. However places are limited so early registration is essential.
Participants are grouped in the coaching sessions according to their ability, rather than age. However workshops are suitable for children aged 6 – 17. The YMCA HQ sessions will cater for Beginner and Intermediate skaters. We encourage everyone interested in skating (and those who have never skated before) to register and be taught by some of the best skaters in Perth.
Registration forms for this workshop can be downloaded from the YMCA HQ website at http://www.hq.org.au/Events.aspx or can be collected from YMCA HQ.
Helmets must be worn during workshops.
YMCA HQ has limited helmets and boards which can be borrowed for the workshop; however this must be confirmed prior to registering. To discuss hiring equipment or for further information please contact Gemma Richman on 9328 3221 or gemma.richman@ymca.org.au
Keep checking the YMCA Perth and YMCA HQ websites for dates of other upcoming workshops.
