Perth’s first ever six Green Star rated building, which has set a new benchmark for sustainable design for the CBD
has also become home to a bold, new venture by the YMCA.
The Victoria Avenue Health Club was launched last Tuesday on a beautiful afternoon overlooking the Swan River.
During official proceedings YMCA President Matthew Rosser reflected on the Y's previous presence in the CBD, regaling the tale of the Y's first gym which cost a grand total of 300 pounds to establish back in 1895.

Today, the profits from the new venture will be ploughed back into the YMCA’s benevolent services. These include
recreation, accommodation, training and youth services which are focused on developing people and building capacity
in the community.
The evening also saw CEO Ron Mell launch the new YMCA Perth branding campaign, which was received by all
with great enthusiasm and keen interest.
All in all, a very successful evening - some guests even managed to fit in a spot of cardio on our shiney new treadmills!
