Noticing and recognising children’s learning is a reflective process in which educators strive to really tune in to the children’s world of ideas, thoughts and feelings that they are exploring and expressing in their play. This session focuses on strategies to assist you with capturing and maintaining the interest of children in a group time environment. You will learn to structure a fun filled session with ample learning opportunities that address varying learning styles and also discover ideas for smooth and meaningful transitions.

CHCCN303A Contribute to provision of nutritionally balanced food in a safe and hygienic manner
This is a Nationally Recognised Unit of Competency and the course required by Food Coordinators working within Long Day Care.  Participants who attend both sessions, complete the assessment tools given, and meet competency for this unit will receive a Statement of Attainment

  • guidelines for food safety
  • how to clean and maintain a food preparation and storage area
  • appropriate techniques and clothing for handling and storing food

This session focuses on healthy eating and physical activity for early childhood.
Get up and get moving

This session is a fun, interactive workshop that will give you the opportunity to explore physical experiences. Early development of good habits may form a foundation for later years.
Healthy and hygienic environments that promote children’s wellbeing

Identifying and managing the risks

Looking through the lens of Belonging, Being and Becoming

Educators will explore how limiting it is to look through only the developmental lens. In moving forward we must accept the child as a capable and competent learner in order to provide an holistic pedagogical approach to learning.

Ensuring your service meets OS&H standards is the focus of this session. You will also discuss effective manual handling techniques.
Promoting enquiry and curiosity

Educators will discuss strategies on how to become increasingly able to recognise and respect the feelings of others and to interact positively with children, with our intention being to create secure confident lifelong learners.
Supportive relationships with families

Acknowledging that families are the child’s first educator is an important step in creating meaningful relationships. During this session you will develop strategies to ensure that partnerships involve educators, families and support professionals working together to explore the learning potential in everyday events, routines and play.
